New Lactation room

901 Social Behavioral Science building

The department now has a lactation room thanks to Brian and Katie Baucom who led this project and donated some of the equipment/furniture.  Sarah Creem-Regehr, Nancy Seegmiller, Cindy White, and Mary Looser also played a role in helping organize this space.  The idea is for it to be a space for graduate students, post docs, undergraduate research assistants, research participants, etc. who need a private space to nurse, pump, bring their newborn, etc. so that they can continue to be involved in departmental activities when they otherwise wouldn't. The room has a desk with a campus computer (it's a laptop that's setup to be used as a desktop), office chair, glider, rock and play, noise machine, humidifier, and baby monitor.

The baby monitor works across the entirety of the 9th floor so could be taken into the rooms in the 9th floor research suite (i.e., the 913 rooms). We don't have a schedule for the room right now and are planning to use it on a first come, first served basis to see how that goes. Keys can be requested from Mary, and the room is on master as an alternative way to get in.
