John believes that his academic training and the training he received in his VA internship came together to further his career.

John received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1961.  As part of his training he was able to complete an internship at the VA in Salt Lake City.  This led to his becoming Research Director of the Psychiatric Evaluation Project, which was a big opportunity for him.  After a few years he transferred to Hines VAH and worked in the MHC treating POWS from the Bataan Death March and other combat and POWS from WWII, Korea and some from the Viet Nam war.  John retired 23 years ago.

William Aronson, BS graduate 1983

Bill has combined his psychology degree with his love of sports, tennis and skiing.

Bill received a BS in psychology in 1983.  He went on to complete his MS and CGS from Springfield College in Massachusetts.  He completed his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology in Fresno.  He completed his MBA from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire.  Bill went on to serve in the United States Air Force as a psychologist.  Currently, he is an adjunct professor at Florida International University and St. Thomas University teaching sport and developmental psychology.   Bill is very involved in tennis, traveling to countries around the world promoting tennis/sport psychology.

Major Chad Killpack, PsyD, United States Air Force,  BA graduate 2004

For Chad, getting a bachelors degree was just a starting point!

Chad received a bachelors in psychology in 2004.  He went on to complete a doctorate at Nova Southeastern University in 2012.  He has been working as a psychologist in the United States Air Force from 2011 to 2018.  Chad is also finishing a two year fellowship specializing in child psychology at Tripler Army Medical Center.

Chad started with a BA, went on to become a Major in the United States Air Force, and then completed a fellowship.

Susan Welland, BS graduate

My degree influenced my life-long career!

Susan went on to get a MS in Educational Technology.  She is now building a Learning Management System and a series of online courses for Dr. Peter Raabe in Philosophical Counselling.  She has worked as an Instructional Designer for Essential Learning and Relias Learning.

Susan believes her degree has influenced her life-long career in figuring out how people think.  She has experienced first hand how obtaining a degree can transfer into technology and online learning space.
